According to reports, Ms. Kelly died at her home in Dungarvan, County Kilkenny. An online death notice remembered her as “a vibrant and joyful person” who “lived life to the full,” reflecting the impact she had on those who knew her personally and professionally.
Trained as an architect, Kelly began her career in Milan, Italy, where she specialized in trompe l’oeil decorative techniques, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern artistic methods. Her experience abroad helped shape a distinctive design style that later earned recognition throughout Ireland.
After returning home, she established herself as a freelance design consultant and became widely known to Irish television audiences through RTÉ’s lifestyle program *Our House*. Appearing alongside presenter Duncan Stewart, Kelly gained popularity as an interiors and DIY expert, offering practical advice and creative inspiration to viewers nationwide.
Beyond television, Kelly worked extensively in heritage restoration and interior design. She served as Lead Design Consultant for the Irish Landmark Trust, where she oversaw restoration projects and advised on the preservation and acquisition of heritage furnishings. In recent years, she continued working on residential and hospitality projects throughout the Kilkenny region.
Kelly was also active in Irish politics through Fine Gael. She contested the 2019 local elections in the Callan-Thomastown municipal district and later served as chair of the party’s Carlow-Kilkenny constituency organization.
